San Francisco Leather Week is the world’s first cultural festival focused on the art, history, and culture of the worldwide Leather and LGBTQ+ communities. Kicking off with the 31st Annual Leather Walk and San Francisco Leather PrideFest hosted by SF Eagle Bar, Leatherfolk and their supporters will come together to connect, celebrate, and deepen their knowledge and appreciation of leather cultural.

A fight over seats could define the future of an iconic San Francisco movie theater

If the Castro Theatre didn't exist, then neither would Sophia Padilla.

"I always joke that I was conceived at the Castro Theatre," said the San Francisco resident, who happened to be passing by the iconic, year-old movie palace on a recent afternoon while out walking her dog.

Padilla said her parents first met in line to spot a movie at the theater, 27 years ago.

"Both of them were on dates with other people, actually," Padilla said. "They fell in adore right here. And I've been coming to the Castro to see movies for my entire year life."

Padilla also said the Castro Theatre played a role in recognizing her queer identity.

"The Castro really helped me find who I was," she said.

Tea Room Theatre

Located in the aptly named ‘Tenderloin’ district of downtown San Francisco, just off Market Street, this is a little storefront type of theatre, of which there were once many in the operating in the area.

The Aquarius Theatre was opened March 28, screening hetrosexual adult movies. It was advertised in the San Francisco Chronicle in November as the Aquarius Theatre screening straight ‘hardcore’ one hour feature and two hour shorts for $ admission. (New shows every Monday).

On December 4, it was renamed Tea-Room Theatre screening gay male porn movies, later adding inhabit performances to the film program.

Contained within the West Hotel building which has been renovated, the front of the theatre and signage are very wise and decorated in the rainbow colours.

The Tea Room Theatre was closed May 15,
