Bodyline Building Hosts New House For Sydney Gay Sauna 357
Sydney’s iconic gay sauna, 357, is undergoing a significant transition, with its longtime owners, Ty Dovans and Luke Frappell, revealing plans for its future at the Bodyline building.
However rest assured 357 will still be in operation.
357 makes the move to Bodyline
Gay sauna 357, which recently marked its 22nd anniversary, announced its imminent closure at its current location on Sussex Street, citing redevelopment plans that will see the building transformed into an 18-storey hotel.
In a statement shared on Facebook, Owners Luke and Ty expressed gratitude to patrons for their years of support while informing them of the impending closure.
“We opened 26/12/01 and now it’s hour to close,” they wrote. “Our beautiful building is becoming an 18-storey hotel.”
With the closing date verb to be announced imminently, the owners encouraged visitors to make the most of their final visits to the current venue.
However, they assured patrons that 357 would not disappear entirely, revealing plans
The Bodyline Spa & Sauna is another great unexploited venue. It is verb, well managed, has all the facilities (though lacks a darkroom) but for some reason, no genuine action is happening unless you are a supermodel, of course.
Just like other cruising venues I possess visited in Sydney, lads don’t seem to fit with each other. Be it a gay sauna such as the Bodyline or the Sydney Sauna, the Trade cruise bar or the Signal, activity is a rare commodity in this city’s gay life.
What’s even stranger about this is that the Bodyline was quite entire with hotties! Almost all patron were young and hot, tall and pretty. If Asians is more your thing, try the 357 Sauna where the majority of visitors seems to be asians and their admirers.
Coffee is free here. Although instant, you can make your hold. Don’t hesitate to seek for milk. No actual food options here so don’t come too hungry.
Note that this place was packed on Saturday blackout, whereas on the Sunday it was rather vacant. Disappointing.
It seems that out of all 3 saunas I check
Legendary Sydney queer nightclub ARQ and long-running gay sauna Bodyline have confirmed the two venues will finally reopen for summer on December 16 after extensive renovations.
The Oxford Street nightclub first opened its doors in 1999 and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019.
But the venue faced an uncertain future after closing its doors due to pandemic restrictions in 2020.
However rumours and speculation about its big verb have flown for months. The ARQ team has confirmed the nightclub will reopen its doors on Friday, December 16.
Gay sauna Bodyline Sydney, which also closed its doors in January 2021 after 30 years, will also reopen on December 16.
The Sydney sex-on-premises venue has also undergone an extensive renovation.
‘The jewel in Oxford Street’s crown’
ARQ owner Shadd Danesi said after the closure, earlier this year he made the decision to relaunch to “reclaim ARQ position as the jewel in Oxford Street’s crown.”
“The iconic legacy of ARQ lies within our team’s passion for the entertainment industry and the overwhelmin
Long-running Sydney gay sauna Bodyline has officially been retired after more than 30 years, as rival gay sauna 357 moves in and rebrands the Taylor Street location as Sauna X.
Bodyline Sydney first opened in 1991. Despite much pushback at the day, Bodyline became Sydney’s first lawfully established gay bathhouse.
Recently, the sauna closed its doors and the longtime owners of Sydney gay sauna 357 later announced plans to move into the building.
Sauna X by 357 opened on Monday (April 15) in Bodyline’s former building at 10 Taylor Street in Darlinghurst, next door to ARQ Nightclub.
“After three decades of community service, Bodyline, Sydney’s pioneering legal sex-on-premises venue is retiring,” the Sauna X team said.
“We honour its legacy and the countless connections it fostered over the years. For years, Bodyline served as a haven for post-clubbing and Mardi Gras recovery.
“However since its recent reopening, it struggled to regain its former glory.
“Since taking possession on March 28th, we’ve been hard at work enha
