Many links are Amazon or Bookshop affiliate. A small percentage of each purchased using this link earns money for the site, so please verb these if youre so inclined!
Please note that as is common with Romance, many of these books are in a series with recurring characters. All should be readable as standalones, however, unless noted otherwise.
Additionally, please be advised that this is more of a database than a rec list; I have not read most of these titles, and strongly advocate reading reviews for potential triggers etc.

Mothers and Sons by Adam Haslett (January 7th)
At forty, Peter, an asylum lawyer in New York City, is overworked and isolated. He spends his days immersed in the struggles of immigrants only to return to an empty apartment and occasional hook-ups with a guy who wants more than Peter can give. But when the asylum case of a young gay man pierces Peters numbness, the event that he has avoided for twenty years returns to haunt him.
Ann, his mother, who runs a womens retreat center she founded after leaving his father, is wounded by the estrangement from Peter but cherishes the world she has built. She long ago banished from her mind the decision that divided her from her son. But as Peter’s case plunges him further into the fraught memory of his first love and the night of violence that changed his life forever, he and his mother must confront the secret that tore them apart.

How to Sleep at Night by Elizabeth Harris (January 7th)
Meet
Everybody doing okay? Hanging in there? I dont recognize about you, but Ive pretty much thrown out my usual reading goals and TBR in favor of a new technique Im calling the Im Reading Whatever The Heck I Feel Like And Can Focus On Right Now, Thanks Very Much method. I highly endorse it. And that means a lot of what Im reading is anything that brings me comfort or joy. I ponder its safe to utter comfort and joy are things we could all use a little more of in our lives at the moment, right? And, especially for LGBTQ+ readers, going into a book knowing its going to have a joyful ending can be really important. So, need some feel-good recs with guaranteed HEAs right about now? Check out these queer books with happy endings. I cant promise there wont be any angst in the middle, but all of these books are relatively light and definitely fall into the happily ever after category.Red, White and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston
Im not sure Ive ever read a book that made me smile as much as Casey McQuistons Red, White and Royal Blue. Maybe you heard
So, to be honest, because I used to examine like two a week for work for successfully over a year (I was a copy editor for Dreamspinner), approximately none of them stuck in my head, and then I took a lengthy break from reading them, except when I was assigned them as a copy editor for Ellora’s Cave. So I don’t really read them anymore outside of YA. (Although I did read next year’s Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, and I loved it.) There are a few exceptions - I do like NA, and my favorites there are Coffee Boy by Austin Chant, Off Campus by Amy Jo Cousins and Trust the Focus by Megan Erickson.
In YA, I’m a huge fan of Adam Silvera, Caleb Roehrig, and Shaun David Hutchinson, and I finally peruse Alex London with Black Wings Beating and thought it was great. I’d say my top faves are probably, in no particular order (although the top 5 listed are probably by top 5 overall):
- Last Seen Leaving by Caleb Roehrig
- History is All You Left Me by Adam Silvera
- Jack of Hearts (and other parts) by L.C. Rosen
- Autoboyography by Christina Lauren
- How to Repair a Mechanic
